At the 2nd night of Hole @ Terminal 5, I was treated to a rare treat - an interesting opening act. UK import, Little Fish was kind of impressive. A skinny little bitch that looked like a cross between Joey Ramone and Patti Smith with a voice sort of like PJ Harvey. She was no fake tho - a true rockanrolla - heroin thin, greasy hair covering her face, she spit into the audience and wielded a mighty ax. The highlight for me was "Darling Dear" which reminded me of Heroin by the Velvet Underground.
Idk...I'd keep an eye open for this little fish.

On April 30th I went to the sold out Gossip show at Terminal 5 with my girl Fatal Booty of Suburbia Roller Derby.
The packed house of breeders, queers, and everything in between was ELECTRIFIED by the ferocious front woman Beth Ditto, guitarist Brace Paine and drummer Hannah Blilie. This was the best show I have been to in a LONG time. BTW ...I NEED that jump suit, like yesterday.

Rye Rye, and the Phenomenal Handclap Band were the 2 also rans. Pretty cool...check them out.
I especially dug PHCB "15 to 20" ...what do you think?

Last night I stumbled upon a blues jam session at the Lazy Boy Lounge
on Mamaroneck Ave in White Plains. At first glance there were more musicians waiting to jam than patrons - mostly stage crew types and boomers with broken dreams. But I gave it a chance and as the night got later, the music got better and the crowd more eclectic.

Then I realized that Bernie Williams (of the Yankees) was playing the congas.
For serious.

Gil Parris is the resident jazz guitarist and there was a ballsy hobo rock chick
named "Misty" who tore it up singing and playing the electric guitar on Billy Jean and Gimme One Reason.

The jam session runs from 9pm to about 1:30am every Wednesday night.
It was pretty neat. I'd go again. Join me, minions.
